words written to be read

This is a blog in which we read books, review them, recommend them to others and talk about them.
It is run by Rikki, Raina and Arina.

Disclaimer: We do not mean for these reviews to be taken too seriously. Obviously we are doing all of this for fun, so please if you don't agree with us on something you are more than welcome to discuss it with us as long as you keep a civil tone.

The book I’m currently reading is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I think I’ll be done with it by Thursday.

About me:
I started reading rather late. I think I was 7 or 8 when I learned to read. I was so proud of myself and I made my teachers let me read out loud during class because I thought it was the greatest achievement in the world.
My earliest memory of loving a book is from a few years later when I read Matilda by Roald Dahl. The story of a clever little girl who immersed herself in a world of books real appealed to me and I finished it off in two days, another source of pride for me. I spent a lot of time in libraries touching the backs of books and breathing in their scent. In fact this is almost a problem. I’ve been caught too many times with my nose buried in a book, sniffing it.
Despite all this time in libraries, I haven’t really read that many books. The reason for this is that I can very rarely focus on one book at a time. I read ten at the very least and lose track of where I am and by the time I try to get back too much time has passed between each read and I have to give up and try again.
Now the books that I have read and am very fond of are: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon, Mannen Som Elsket Yngve by Tore Renberg, The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, Matilda by Roald Dahl, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón and 1984 by George Orwell.
